Safety & diagnostic limits
A scan is evidence.
Not a safety certificate.
PackGauge displays available pack-reported readings and history. A scan does not establish battery safety, authentication, capacity, or health.
01
Separate observation from interpretation.
- Observed data
- Cell-bank voltage, temperature, identity fields, counters, and history records made available by the pack at the time of scanning.
- Calculations
- Values derived by PackGauge, including voltage spread and estimated equivalent cycles where capacity is known.
- Conclusions not established
- Safety, authenticity, capacity, internal condition, electrical integrity, future performance, warranty status, and fitness for use.
Balanced voltage, a small spread, or no recorded faults cannot establish any of those conclusions. Voltage spread is evidence, not a capacity or health test.
02
A read-oriented current user workflow.
The current user workflow requests diagnostic data. It does not present controls to repair, reset, rebalance, rejuvenate, unlock, reprogram, erase history, change configuration, or set stored pack values. PackGauge does not charge or authenticate a battery.
The scan sequence can cause the pack to wake, respond, and update its own counters. The pack may refresh its own recorded statistics during scanning; that pack behavior is distinct from a user command to rewrite stored values.
03
Unknown must stay unknown.
Data availability varies by firmware. Missing or unavailable data is not converted to a reassuring zero. An absent fault counter does not mean there were no faults, and a pack-reported value is not independently verified by PackGauge.
Green, amber, or red interface bands are diagnostic cues only. They are not safety ratings, pass/fail certifications, or authorization to continue using a pack.
04
Use ordinary lithium-ion precautions.
- Inspect the pack physically before connecting it.
- Use PackGauge only as documented and keep the work area dry.
- Do not open, modify, bypass, or probe a battery pack based on a scan result.
- Follow the battery manufacturer’s handling, charging, storage, recall, and disposal guidance.
- Treat unexpected heat, odor, sound, smoke, leakage, or deformation as a reason to stop and move away safely.
PackGauge supplements appropriate electrical and physical inspection; it does not replace manufacturer instructions, qualified service judgment, or applicable workplace procedures.
